DP Seals is one of the first rubber companies in the UK to add ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 approvals to its ISO 9001 accreditation. These approvals comprise the cornerstones of the company’s integrated quality, environmental and health and safety policy procedure.

DP Seals has always striven to be clean and green; for example, to supplement factory heating during the winter months, the company installed equipment on its presses to recover heat from the scrubbed fume extractors. Considering the nature of the raw materials the company uses in its manufacturing processes, achieving ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management approval at the first attempt reinforces this commitment.
As part of its manufacturing processes, DP Seals’ custom-built presses generate high pressures and temperatures, creating potential health and safety issues. However, the attention to machinery guards, computerised fail-safe machine interlocks and extensive staff training underpinning DP Seals’ enviable safety record has enabled the company to gain OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety Policy Approval also at its first attempt.
